The Academy has released a document that provides an overview of today’s health information technology landscape. The AMCP HIT Primer, which is funded through a sponsorship from Boehringer Ingelheim, is available online and will be mailed in the June issue of the AMCP News. The Primer is available at AMCP Publications, and is the last item listed.

A team of student pharmacists from the University of Southern California won the AMCP/FMCP 2011 Pharmacy & Therapeutics competition. A USC student pharmacist also took top honors for the AMCP/FMCP Best Student Pharmacist Poster competition, while a resident of Highmark, BlueCross BlueShield won the Best Resident or Fellow Poster contest.

The Academy has installed four new members to fill the 2011-2012 term of the AMCP Board of Directors. They are President-Elect Doug Burgoyne, Treasurer Robert Gregory, and Directors Steven Avey and Eric Cannon. The new Board members were sworn in April 29 at AMCP’s 23rd Annual Meeting & Showcase in Minneapolis. Click the headline for information on each individual.

The Academy has launched a search for a new Chief Executive Officer following the announcement that current CEO Judith Cahill will not be a candidate for the position under AMCP's new organizational structure. AMCP also expresses deep gratitude to Cahill for her years of leadership and service to the organization, at AMCP's 23^rd Annual Meeting & Showcase, April 27-29 in Minneapolis, Minn.
